Actually, this blog is about faith, not food. I am finding that the Christian community is spending increasing amounts of time in the spiritual buffets, bypassing the balanced, healthy portions of biblical truth and theology. We meander into our Christian bookstores looking for a tasty morsel of self-help. We tune to radio stations which are long on popularity but short on truth or musicality. If something does not satiate our spiritual craving we mosey over to another part of the buffet. However, the only food that will truly satisfy the longing of our spirit is intimacy with the Almighty found through knowing Him completely. This cannot be accomplished one nibble at a time.
So join me as we embark on a new spiritual diet. We may have to leave the buffet for a few weeks but it will be worth the effort. The end result is described in Hebrews 5:14, "But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil." May we together become healthy, happy, and holy.
I like the concept. This is a serious problem in our Evangelical Christian culture. And it's silly. We look in every place for the answer but where the answer really is: the Word of God. Sad.
